Each Custom Creation is unique. Each one takes a different amount of ingredients, supplies, and time. Because of this, I do not have a specific, one-size-fits-all price. That said, I do have a list with base (beginning) prices here. To receive a specific quote on what you want made, please contact me.
You can discover how many servings are in a round or square cake here. Sculpted 3-D cakes or other shaped cakes may have a different number of servings.
To get started, shoot me a message. Give me details on how you'd like your Custom Creation to look (having inspiration pictures you found online is always a huge help), how you want it to taste, and when you need it. Please keep in mind that requesting a Custom Creation does not guarantee I'll make it. I am a one woman show so my calendar fills up with orders FAST.
If a cake needs delivered further than 10 miles away or if the cake is complicated (super delicate decorations, odd tiers, etc.), then, yes, there is a small delivery fee.
Since I operate under cottage law and cutting and serving cake is considered a catering job, I am not allowed to cut and serve the cake at your event. I may, however, provide you with an instruction sheet that guides you in the easy, proper cutting of the cake. I do recommend assigning a guest as an official cake cutter and server, especially if this is for your wedding.
Depends. If they're made of icing or sugar, then typically yes. If made of other materials, possibly not. We'll discuss these details as we get your order moving. Keep in mind that you may need to provide some items yourself (one example would be a specific cake topper) beforehand or I may need to order them at your expense.
Ideally, I like a bare minimum of 1-1/2 to 2 weeks advanced notice before I can accept an order. Sometimes less will do especially for simpler projects. A wedding cake really needs at least 2 months or more advanced notice.
I might be able to do a last minute order, but it totally depends on my schedule and the item's design and quantity. Submit a message with the date you need your Custom Creation and details on how you'd like it to look and I'll see what I can do!
Grocery store cakes and cookies are carelessly mass-produced with crappy ingredients in a huge factory then frozen for 6 months while being shipped across the nation. My cakes and cookies are made fresh to order with ample care and consideration using quality ingredients in my own home kitchen. When you buy from me, you are supporting a small, local Colorado business and a mom.
You sure can! Learn how to here.
Fondant is like edible play dough. It is made using sugar, water, and gelatin. Homemade fondant is made using marshmallows.
This depends largely on the individual. Some people love fondant, others hate it. My kids could eat it all day if I let them.
The fondant that I use is created with high quality ingredients, so it's tastier than many fondants out there! If however you find that you do not like the fondant, you don't have to eat it. In fact, people in some countries think it's weird that Americans eat the fondant at all. They usually peel it off before eating their slice of cake. You and your guests can do this as well.
That depends totally on how you want your cake or cookies to look as some designs simply require the use of fondant. We can discuss this as your order is processed.
Yes and no. Am I able to make just about any design? Probably. Am I allowed to? Not necessarily. Here are my limitations:
Most designs I can and will do. If I do have any limitations for what you want done, I'll let you know!
Unfortunately, due to the volume of orders I am receiving (since I am running my business solo from my own home), I am usually unable to make allergen friendly or sugar free cakes at this time. However, you may go ahead and ask in case I do have availability. Please keep in mind that they are made in a kitchen that uses known allergens, so if you have a severe allergy or anaphylactic reaction to any allergens, you might not want to order from me.
Cakes and other Custom Creations take ingredients, supplies, and lots of time and labor to create. And because of irresponsible customers in the past, I now require full payment before I will even mark my calendar for your Custom Creation. The sole exception is for expensive wedding cakes for which I require a non-refundable retainer fee (technically not a deposit) which consists of 50% of the cake's total cost. The remaining cost is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding.
Yes, I do, with my Cake Tasting Kit! Typically, these are reserved for wedding customers. However, if you would like to do one for any other occasion, you can. You can learn more about my Cake Tasting Kit here.
I have a list of the common ingredients I use here. For a list of ingredients used in a specific item, please contact me. All products come with a label or sheet of paper that lists its ingredients as well.
I would LOVE to be able to offer French macarons. However, they're a bit tricky to master. I am in the process of taking educational courses to learn how to make them and I'm practicing making them in the hopes of offering them one day. Meanwhile, if you have something like a cake, cream tarte, or dessert table order that requires macarons as part of the decoration, I will order fresh made ones from another local Colorado business.
If in saying "edible" you mean able to eat, then, yes, totally, all my cakes and cookies are edible. If, however, you mean laced with certain green plants that make you high, then, no, I do not make anything "edible." I not only don't particularly want to make edibles, but I am also legally unable to under Colorado state cottage law.
